How do I accept a freight shipment?

Receiving a freight shipment correctly helps ensure your equipment arrives safely and that any issues are resolved quickly. Here’s what to do when your order arrives.

Step 1: Inspect before signing
Before signing the delivery receipt:

  • Inspect the shipment carefully for visible damage (e.g., crushed corners, broken pallets, torn packaging).

  • Confirm all items listed on the packing slip are included. Some items may arrive in separate shipments.

  • Do not sign for the delivery until your inspection is complete.

Important: If anything is missing, it must be reported to Solar Power Store within 48 hours by emailing hello@solarpowerstore.ca.

Step 2: If there is damage or a shortage
If you discover damage or missing items:

  1. Clearly note the issue on the driver’s copy of the delivery receipt.

  2. Take a photo of the signed delivery receipt showing the damage note, or request a copy.

  3. Photograph the damaged items clearly, including packaging.

  4. Contact us immediately at hello@solarpowerstore.ca with a description of the issue and your photos.

Please note: Claims not reported within 48 hours, or without the driver’s acknowledgement, may be denied by the freight carrier and Solar Power Store.

Step 3: Damaged solar panels policy

  • If 4 or more panels are damaged: we will issue replacements.

  • If fewer than 4 panels are damaged: an in-store credit will be issued.

Following these steps helps ensure any issues are addressed quickly and fairly. If you have questions at any stage of the delivery, we’re here to assist!
