What lamacoid labelling is required for a solar installation?

When installing a solar energy system, proper lamacoid labelling is essential for safety and compliance. These engraved labels and warning stickers help identify disconnects, multiple power sources, and energized parts—making it clear for both homeowners and electricians how the system operates. Below is a breakdown of the common labelling requirements for each component of a solar setup.

Disconnect Switch

  • DG Disconnect

  • Multiple Power Sources

  • Single Line Diagram (SLD) with chart showing solar panel specifications

  • Parts inside may be energized – make sure to turn off all breakers

  • System equipment with rapid shutdown

Inverter

  • Single Line Diagram (SLD) with chart showing solar panel specifications

  • System equipment with rapid shutdown

  • Multiple Power Sources

  • Optional: Field derated inverters will need a lamacoid stating the grid interactive input derating.

Meter Base
