How do I update the LuxPower LCD via USB?

Updating the LuxPower LCD after a firmware update is important to ensure the inverter’s display works correctly with the latest software. This guide will walk you through the process of preparing a USB flash drive and updating the LCD step-by-step.

Step 1: USB Flash Disk Selection and Configuration

1. Choose the USB flash disk size
   The USB flash disk must be 16GB or smaller. Recommended sizes are 16GB, 8GB, 4GB, or 2GB.

2. Format the USB flash disk
   Follow these steps to format your USB flash disk to FAT32:

   1. Plug the USB flash disk into your computer.

   2. Open the Command Prompt: Click Start → Run, type CMD, and press Enter.

   3. Identify the drive letter for your USB disk (e.g., H:).

   4. Type the command:
      format /q H: /fs:fat32 /a:4096
      (Make sure to include the spaces exactly as shown. Replace “H:” with your USB drive letter.)

   5. Press Enter and follow the on-screen instructions to complete formatting.

Step 2: Prepare the Firmware Files

• Extract the zip file provided for the update.

• Ensure the extracted folder is named DWIN_SET.

• The file path on your USB should look like this:
  USB(x)/DWIN_SET/ followed by the firmware files.

• Confirm there are 7 files total inside DWIN_SET:

  • 4 .bin files

  • 2 .icl files

  • 1 .CFG file

Step 3: Perform the LCD Firmware Update

1. Connect the USB flash disk
   Power off the inverter and insert the USB flash disk into the USB2 port on the inverter’s interface board.

2. Update the firmware
   Power on the inverter. The LCD will display an update screen for about 3 minutes, then automatically restart.
   If the update is successful, the inverter will return to the normal home screen.

3. Remove the USB flash disk
   You can safely unplug the USB flash disk after the update is complete, as the USB2 port supports hot-plugging.

• To verify the LCD version, check the bottom right corner of the LCD display.
