Setting up closed-loop communication between your LuxPower LXP-LB-US 8k, 10k, and 12k inverter and the Maple Leaf Moose 14.34 kWh 48 V lithium battery is simple. Follow the steps below to ensure smooth communication and efficient operation.
Step 1: Connect the Power and Communication Cables
Power Cable Connection
Connect the power cables between your inverter and Maple Leaf Moose battery. If your system uses busbars, connect the battery to those instead.

Tip: Refer to your LuxPower inverter’s manual to locate the correct battery terminals.
Communication Cable (CAN Port)
Use the orange communication cable that comes with either the battery or the inverter.

Plug one end into the CAN/485 port on the battery.

Plug the other end into the BAT COM port on the LuxPower inverter.
Set the DIP Switch
To ensure proper communication, adjust the DIP switch settings as shown in your battery's manual or setup guide.

Important: Turn off the battery before making any DIP switch changes.
Set Battery Communication Mode
On the Maple Leaf Moose battery screen:

Set CAN to CAN - ML - 1

Set RS485 to None

Note: Make sure the battery is powered on and that these settings are saved before moving to the next step.
Step 2: Configure the Inverter Settings
Once the cables are connected, configure the inverter.

On the LuxPower inverter display, tap the Settings icon.

Tap Advanced

Go to the Battery section

Set Battery Type and Lithium Brand
Battery Type: Lithium
Lithium Brand: Lithium_0 -
Enter password: 00000 if the inverter asks for a password.
Note: After changing this setting, the inverter will normally restart on its own. If it doesn't, please restart the inverter manually.
Step 3: Confirm Successful Communication
After configuring the settings, check the following:

The battery icon on the inverter’s home screen should turn green.

You should see real-time battery data like:

SOC (State of Charge)

Voltage
-
Current

Troubleshooting Tip:
If the battery icon is red, double-check:

DIP switch settings (Only Switch #6 ON for the master battery)

Cable connections (CAN cable firmly plugged into correct ports)
